Why Does Western Culture Have Such an Unhealthy Respect for Islam?

9/11 is what really fueled the hatred in modern times. Americans were devastated and afraid that terrorists would go as far as to kill thousands of innocent citizens which triggered them into thinking that all muslims are terrorist and should be condemned. speaking as an american although 9/11 was horrible anybody should realize that 1 corrupt religious group does not represent the whole islamic faith. tons of muslims felt sympathy for america when 9/11 occurred so of course not all of them were cold hearted about it. i say until we realize that 1 incident shouldn't affect the view of a whole religion there will be peace towards muslims.
