Would this poem by Mark Anthony Thomas be powerful enough to recite in front of a class?

Perhaps the class would have some difficulty grasping the full essence of the poem if it were recited to them. Sometimes one must read and think about a poem's meaning to reap the full message. Personally, I like "The Ballad of the Harp Weaver" by Edna St. Vincent Millay.
